Early Life and Education
Pavel Alexandrovich Galchansky was born in Ukraine and graduated from high school in 1977. He initially worked as a correspondent for a regional newspaper before enrolling in the Lviv Higher Military-Political School in 1979, majoring in journalism.
Military Career
After completing his studies, Galchansky served in various positions in military newspapers for the Far Eastern Military District, Western Group of Forces, and Odessa Military District. He retired from the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 1997 with the rank of Colonel in reserve.
Media Career
In 1997, Galchansky became the Chief Editor of the Ukrainian newspaper "Argumenty i Fakty" for the Southern Region of Ukraine. He also graduated from the Faculty of Law at Odessa State University named after I.I. Mechnikov and earned a Candidate of Psychological Sciences degree.
In 2000, Galchansky founded the South Ukrainian Media Holding, which he has led for over two decades. The holding comprises over 20 newspapers and magazines, including "AiF in Ukraine", "KP in Ukraine", "Life in Odessa", and "Odesskaya Pravda". It also includes a publishing house, the information agency "Odessa Media", websites, and Telegram channels.
Other Activities
Galchansky is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushinsky and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the "People's Recognition - Odessa Man of the Year" rating. He is also a renowned traveler who has visited over 100 countries and published numerous travelogues, sketches, and essays. He authored and published the book "Odessa Odysseys."
