Early Life and FamilyPetra Cetkovska was born in Prostějov, Czech Republic, to parents Petr and Alena Cetkovsky. Her younger brother, Matej, was born later. Her father, who worked in a tennis equipment store, introduced her to the sport at the tender age of five.
Junior Success
Cetkovska's talent for tennis became evident from a young age. She reached the semifinals of the Orange Bowl in 2000 and became the world's top-ranked junior in doubles. Along with her doubles partner, she won two junior Grand Slam titles (Australian Open and Roland Garros) in 2001 and reached the final of the Australian Open doubles in 2003.
Professional Career
Cetkovska turned professional in 2000. As a right-handed player with a powerful forehand and serve, she transitioned seamlessly from junior to professional tennis. She quickly established herself as a doubles specialist, winning her first WTA title in Doha in 2011.
