Biography of Philipp Kohlschreiber
Early Life and CareerPhilipp Kohlschreiber was born on October 16, 1983, in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany. He started playing tennis at the age of four and quickly developed a passion for the sport. His father, Gerhard Kohlschreiber, used to manage a gas station, while his mother, Maria Kohlschreiber, worked as a kindergarten teacher. Philipp grew up with two sisters, Sandra and Gerlinde. Currently, he resides in Altstaetten, Switzerland.
Professional Tennis
Kohlschreiber turned professional in 2001 and has since achieved significant success in both singles and doubles. As of July 4, 2011, he was ranked 42nd in the world in singles. His career prize money amounts to $4,265,257. Philipp has won four singles titles and six doubles titles throughout his career, excelling on clay and hard court surfaces.
Coaching and Sponsorship
Since September 2010, Miles Maclagan, a former British tennis player, has been coaching Philipp Kohlschreiber. Additionally, Marco Panicci serves as his fitness instructor. Kohlschreiber is sponsored by the American sporting goods company, Wilson Sporting Goods.

In 2000, Kohlschreiber participated in his first ATP tournament in Eckental, Bavaria. Four years later, in August 2004, he made it into the top 100 tennis players in the ATP rankings. One of the highlights of his career was winning the Bavarian Open in 2007. In February 2008, Kohlschreiber reached his highest national ranking in Germany and achieved his highest ATP ranking, which remains a memorable and emotional moment for him.
