Early Life and Olympics Debut
Born in 1957 in Lyon, Henry began his fencing journey at a young age. He made his Olympic debut at the 1976 Montreal Games but failed to medal.
World Championship Success
In 1978, Henry claimed the silver medal at the World Championships, followed by his first World Championship title in 1979. He continued to dominate the sport, earning gold and silver medals at the 1982 World Championships.
Olympic Glory and Medals
Henry's Olympic triumphs came at the 1980 Moscow Games, where he secured both gold and bronze medals in épée. He repeated his success at the 1988 Seoul Games, winning another gold and silver medal. In between, he competed in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, earning silver and bronze.

Henry continued to compete until the late 1980s, adding a bronze medal at the 1985 World Championships and a gold medal in 1986.
