Étienne Pierre de Lacretelle
Early Life and EducationÉtienne Pierre de Lacretelle was born in Paris on May 3, 1766. He studied law and began his legal career in 1786.
Political Career
In 1791, Lacretelle was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly. After the fall of the monarchy, he served as a member of the Legislative Corps from 1801. During the Bourbon Restoration, he led opposition newspapers, including "Nouveau Mercure" and "Minerve."
Literary Contributions
Lacretelle is best known for his written works, which focused on legal, philosophical, and social issues. His most prominent publications include:
