Early Career and Rise to Prominence
After a brief stint at Lloyd's of London, Morgan joined the South London Newspaper Group as a reporter. His talent caught the attention of The Sun, where he became a respected editor in the show-business section. In 1994, Rupert Murdoch appointed him editor of News of the World, making Morgan the youngest editor of a national newspaper in 50 years.

Morgan's tenure at News of the World was marked by sensationalism and a disregard for privacy. His belief that celebrities should embrace the spotlight at all costs generated controversy. Despite his success at boosting circulation, Morgan eventually stepped down due to differences with Murdoch.
The Daily Mirror and Beyond
In 1995, Morgan became editor of the Daily Mirror. However, despite an attempt to shift the paper's focus away from tabloid sensationalism, it failed to halt declining sales. In 2004, Morgan was fired for approving the publication of controversial photographs allegedly showing Iraqi prisoners of war being abused.
First News
In 2006, Morgan founded First News, a weekly newspaper aimed at children aged 7 to 14. Despite claiming to be the first British publication of its kind, children's newspapers have existed in the country since the early 1900s. Morgan continues to serve as editor of First News.

Morgan has also enjoyed a successful television career. He has appeared as a host, participant, and judge on numerous shows, including Britain's Got Talent and the American Idol franchise. In 2011, he replaced Larry King as the host of Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN.
Personal Life
Morgan married Marion Shalloe in 1991, with whom he had three children before they divorced in 2008. He is currently married to journalist Celia Walden, the daughter of former Conservative MP George Walden.
