Collaboration with Wim Verstappen
During his time at the academy, van den Berg forged a formidable partnership with fellow filmmaker Wim Verstappen. Together, they delved into the realm of avant-garde cinema, pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.
Founding of "Skoop" and "Scorpio Films"
In collaboration with Nikolaas van der Heyde and Gied Jaspars, van den Berg played a pivotal role in the establishment of the film magazine "Skoop" in 1964. Three years later, he co-founded "Scorpio Films" with Verstappen, laying the foundation for their future cinematic triumphs.
Directing and Production with Wim Verstappen
From 1966 onwards, van den Berg and Verstappen embarked on a prolific journey as directors and producers. Their collaboration resulted in several notable films, including the groundbreaking "Blue Movie" in 1971.
