Early Life and Military Career

Ivan Mikhailovich Kablukov was born in 1791 into a noble family in the Kostroma province. He enlisted in the Leib-Guard Preobrazhensky Regiment as a non-commissioned officer in 1791 and began serving as a lieutenant in 1798.

Napoleonic Wars

Kablukov saw action in the Napoleonic Wars, most notably at the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805. He was wounded and captured during the battle, and spent the next year in captivity. Upon his return in 1806, he was awarded a golden sword for bravery. He also participated in the battles of Heilsberg and Friedland in 1807.

War of 1812

At the outbreak of the War of 1812, Kablukov served in the Cavalry Regiment as part of the 5th Reserve (Guard) Corps. He fought in the Battle of Borodino, where he was wounded in the arm. In 1813, he was promoted to major general for his valor in battles at Lützen, Bautzen, Dresden, and Kulm. He also participated in the siege of Magdeburg and Hamburg.

Post-War Career

After the war, Kablukov commanded various cavalry brigades and served in General M.S. Vorontsov's occupation corps in France until 1818. In 1823, he became commander of the 3rd Cuirassier Division, which was stationed in Ukraine. He was awarded the Order of St. George, 4th class in 1824.

Later Life and Death

In 1826, Kablukov was promoted to lieutenant general. He distinguished himself during the Polish military campaign in 1831 and was awarded the Order of St. George, 3rd class. In 1832, he was appointed head of military settlements in Kherson and Yekaterinoslav provinces. He died in 1833 in the village of Petrikovka and was buried there.
