Biography of Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra is an Indian model and actress, as well as a multiple beauty pageant contestant. She was crowned 'Miss India' (Femina Miss India) in 2009 and went on to represent India in international competitions.
Early Life
Priyanka Chopra's parents separated when she was just 20 days old. Her father openly expressed his desire to marry someone else, prompting her mother to leave first. Despite her parents' separation, Chopra was determined to pursue her dreams.
Beauty Pageants
In 2009, Chopra won the title of 'Miss Eastern India' at the '2009 Femina Miss India East' pageant held on February 17th. During the competition, she also won several other awards, including 'Miss Perfect 10', 'Miss Catwalk', 'Miss Beautiful Smile', 'Talwarkars Best Body', and 'Nakshatra Miss Sparkling Beauty'. These accolades secured her a spot in the 'Miss India' competition, which she ultimately won.
Miss World Competition
A week before the 'Miss World' competition, Chopra injured her ankle while escaping from a staircase. Doctors advised her to rest for three weeks, but she refused to stay in bed. Julia Morley, the chairwoman of the competition, recommended that Chopra at least abstain from participating in the dance competition. Chopra only performed a few steps before ending her performance. Despite the setback, Chopra made it to the semi-finals and was ranked in the 'Top 16' contestants. She also won the 'Beauty With a Purpose 2009' award for her charitable work.
Later Career
In 2010, Chopra crowned the new 'Miss India,' Manasvi Mamgai. She continues to be involved in charity work, particularly with the 'Nanhi Kali' foundation, which supports underprivileged girls. Chopra received a $10,000 reward for her support of the movement. She has also worked with well-known brands such as 'Tata Docomo,' 'Bajaj Allainz,' 'Richfeel,' 'Body and Soul,' 'Roots Comb,' 'Evolve Med Spa,' and 'Juvederm Voluma.'
Acting Career
Chopra made her acting debut in 2011 in the film 'Ponnar Shankar,' starring alongside popular Indian actor Prashanth.
