Early Life and Family LineageBorn in 1987 in Fontainebleau, France, Poppy Corby-Tuech's full name is Poppy Colette Corby-Tuech. Her maternal lineage traces back to the Scottish landowner and politician, Earl of Morton. Conversely, her father is French. At the age of 9, Corby-Tuech relocated to Norfolk, England, where she maintains a strong connection to her French heritage.
Journey to Acting
Corby-Tuech's aspirations to become an actress began in childhood. However, her path was not straightforward. Before pursuing acting, she briefly worked as a model, fashion journalist, and keyboardist in the pop-punk band, White Rose Movement.
Film and Television Career
Corby-Tuech's acting debut came in the fantasy action film "Dracula Untold" (2014), portraying Demetria. She later appeared in British detective television series "Silent Witness" (2014) and "Father Brown" (2015). Notably, she played an uncredited role as a spy in Paolo Sorrentino's "Youth" (2015), alongside Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel.
Her breakthrough roles came in the mid-2010s with the television series "The Royals" (2015), "The Collection" (2016), and "Harlots" (2017). In "The Royals," she portrayed Prudence, while in "The Collection," she played Dominique. In "Harlots," she took on the role of Marie-Louise d'Aubigny.
In 2018, Corby-Tuech joined the "Fantastic Beasts" franchise, playing Vinda Rosier in "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald."
