Partnership with Margarita Drobiazko
Partnering with Margarita Drobiazko, Vanagas dedicated much of his career to ice dance. Together, they achieved remarkable milestones:
- Third place at the 2000 World Championships
- Two bronze medals at the European Championships (2000, 2006)- Four bronze medals at the Grand Prix Finals (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002)
Olympic Legacy
Vanagas and Drobiazko represented Lithuania at five Winter Olympics (1992, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006). In 1994 and 1998, Vanagas had the honor of carrying the Lithuanian flag at the opening ceremonies.
Retirement and Return
After initially retiring in 2002, Vanagas and Drobiazko rekindled their partnership in preparation for the 2006 Olympics. They subsequently retired once more and transitioned to professional skating.
