Early Life and Education
Pavlopoulos was born on July 10, 1950, in Kalamata. As a young man, he pursued legal studies at the Sorbonne in Paris, earning a doctorate in public law in 1977.
Political Career
Academic and Early Ministerial RolesIn the 1970s, Pavlopoulos served as secretary to interim President of the Hellenic Republic Mikhail Stasinopoulos. After a brief stint in the military, he embarked on an academic career, authoring several books.
Parliamentary Representation
In 1996, Pavlopoulos was elected to the Greek Parliament as a member of the New Democracy party. He was re-elected several times, serving until 2012.
Ministerial Appointments
From 1989 to 1997, Pavlopoulos held various ministerial positions, including Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, Press Secretary of the Government, and Legal Counsel to President Konstantinos Karamanlis.
Leader of New Democracy
