Rachel & Jessica: Guinness World Record-Breaking Jump Rope Duo

In December of last year, British woman Rachel Grills and her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Jessica, officially set a Guinness World Record in the amusing category of "most consecutive skips of a person and dog in one minute." The dynamic duo, hailing from Okehampton, Devon, leaped through the air an impressive 59 times in 60 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 58 set by 11-year-old Japanese Beagle Purin and her owner, Makoto Kumagai.

Dedicated Training

Rachel devotes approximately 15 minutes each day to training eight-year-old Jessica, who showcases a range of talents including skateboarding and barrel rolling. The pair perform for audiences at exhibitions and events, and Rachel reveals that Jessica's jumping abilities were evident from her puppy days. "She's always had springs in her paws," says Rachel. "She would jump over quite high fences, and she just has a lovely jump."

Off-Stage Demeanor

When Jessica is not entertaining the crowds, she behaves as "the most normal dog," according to Rachel. "She's my little princess," she adds. "She loves being in the limelight." As a reward for their world-record achievement, Jessica received "lots of sausages and plenty of cuddles."
