Biography of Radu Sîrbu
Radu Sîrbu is a Moldovan musician and former member of the pop group O-Zone. He was born in the village of Peresecino to parents Alexey Ivanovich and Eugenia Georgievna Sîrbu. He attended secondary school in Orgeev, and later his family moved to Bălți, where Radu completed the 9th grade. During the 10th and 11th grades, he worked as a DJ at his parents' disco. With their support, he later opened a creative studio for children and teenagers called Artshow. The studio organized various musical performances, with Sîrbu serving as the director, sound engineer, and vocalist.

After finishing school, Sîrbu enrolled in the Faculty of Vocal Art and Music Pedagogy at the Chișinău Music Conservatory, specializing in classical singing. At the same time, he sang in a rock band from Orgeev and worked as a vocal teacher at the House of Children's Creativity. In 2001, he participated in the audition for the O-Zone group. During the audition, he met Dan Bălan and became the group's second vocalist.
In 2005, O-Zone disbanded due to financial disagreements among the members. Unlike the other two vocalists who pursued solo careers in non-Romanian-speaking countries, Radu Sîrbu remained in Romania. In addition to recording his own albums, he began producing and writing songs for other popular artists. He established the Rassada music label.
In 2013, Sîrbu was one of the composers of Natalia Barbu's song "Confession," which participated in the Romanian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2016, under the stage name Red Lyard, he released a rock single called "When Love Is Gone." The song was co-written by George and Ana Sîrbu (Radu's wife, also known as the singer Siana), and the music video was directed by Ivan Kamensky. The song is about finding emotional peace for a man who has lost his love.
In 2020, Sîrbu released the song "Răspuns" ("Answer") together with Ana Sîrbu, simultaneously serving as a producer and performer. The creation of this romantic composition was inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the singer, the song urges people to understand that "love has no expiration date, and everything will be fine."
