Rafiq Kasimov, a distinguished Azerbaijani scientist, was born on June 26, 1931, in Erevan, Armenian SSR. His academic journey began with a degree in Biology from Azerbaijan State University.
Academic Achievements and Contributions
Dr. Kasimov is a renowned professor and a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS). As the current head of the laboratory at the Institute of Physiology named after A.I. Garayev within ANAS, he has played a pivotal role in advancing the understanding of ichthyology.
Dr. Kasimov's profound contributions to the field of fish biology include groundbreaking research on the development of food and defense mechanisms in fish during early ontogenesis.
