Early Career
Born in the Soviet Union, Myrat Yakshiev played for Turkmen clubs Ahal and Merv in the early 1990s. He was a member of the Turkmenistan national team from 1992 to 1994.
Club Career
In 1995, Yakshiev joined Kopetdag for one season before moving to Nisa, where he immediately became a national champion. He remained with Nisa until 2002, before continuing his career at Nebitchi, where he captained the team in his later years.
Captain of Merv and Cup Victory
Yakshiev ended his playing career at Merv, captaining the team to victory in the 2008 Turkmenistan Cup. This marked a fitting conclusion to his illustrious career.
Managerial Career
Following his retirement as a player, Yakshiev became the head coach of Merv, a position he holds to this day.
