Early Beginnings

Roli's love for surfing ignited at the tender age of five during a family vacation to California. She spent the following three summers honing her skills on the waves. As a young girl, she would also embark on weekend trips to the Gulf of Mexico from her home in Austin, Texas.

Embracing Wakesurfing

In 2010, Roli discovered wakesurfing, a simulation of classic surfing on Lake Austin. The adrenaline rush of riding behind a towing boat captivated her. She began training with her father J.B. almost daily, catching the attention of local wakesurfers, including her current coach, Billy Clark.

Breaking Into the Competitive Scene

Clark assisted Roli in entering local competitions. She made her mark in 2011 by winning 1st place at the Waketoberfest watersports festival in Canyon Lake, Texas. With Clark's help, Roli secured sponsorship, allowing her to train at a higher level.

Professional Success

Roli turned professional in 2012, competing against opponents who were at least twice her age. She placed 3rd in the women's division of the West Coast Open and the National Championships. These achievements earned her a spot in the qualifying event for the World Championships in Parker, Arizona.

World Champion

At the World Championships, Roli surged to the forefront, finishing last on day one, fifth on day two, and fourth in the semi-final. In the final battle, she unleashed her "killer instinct," securing the Pro Wakesurf World Championship title.

A Unique Companion

Roli has a deep affinity for animals. In addition to her two dogs, two mice, and four hermit crabs, she has a miniature pig named Fergus. Fergus's acquisition came after Roli bet her parents she would place at the Pro Wakesurf World Championship. They agreed, assuming she would not succeed at such a high level. After her unexpected victory, J.B. and his wife had no choice but to honor their daughter's wish. Today, Roli proudly takes Fergus for walks and even wheels him in a stroller. Despite being promised he would only grow to 15 inches tall, Fergus's weight can vary significantly, ranging from 10 to 50 pounds. He is a remarkably clean pig and has become friends with Roli's dogs. Fergus enjoys a varied diet of fruits, vegetables, grains, and swine-specific feed. With proper care and good health, Fergus could live for 15-20 years, potentially witnessing even more triumphs from his talented owner.
