Biography of Ramon Calderon

Ramon Calderon Ramos was born on May 26, 1951, in the city of Palencia, Spain. He studied at the University of Navarra and graduated with a degree in law. Afterward, in 1975, Ramon moved to Madrid and opened his own law firm. As a child, Calderon was a passionate supporter of Real Madrid, and in 1979, fate brought him to his beloved club. That same year, Ramon became a member of the club, tasked with resolving various legal issues. He was so successful in this role that in 1991, Ramon Calderon was elected Vice President of the organization for legal affairs. Four years later, after the promotion of Florentino Perez, Ramon Calderon was appointed General Secretary of the club's president. In 2002, Ramon joined the Board of Directors of Real Madrid. Over the next three years, Ramon Calderon shared in the club's glory, winning the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Spanish Super Cup, and the ABC Cup in basketball. On July 3, 2006, following Florentino Perez's resignation, Ramon Calderon was elected President of Real Madrid. Thanks to Calderon's well-thought-out policies, the club signed contracts with many outstanding individuals, including Pedro Mijatovic as the club's sports director and Fabio Capello as the head coach. Contracts were also concluded with players such as Ruud van Nistelrooy, Fabio Cannavaro, Mahamadou Diarra, and Guti.
