Randy Harrison is an American actor who gained fame for his portrayal of Justin Taylor in the Showtime drama series "Queer as Folk". He can be considered a seasoned performer as he has been on stage since the age of seven. Harrison decided to become an actor when his parents couldn't find a babysitter and had to take him to a production of "Peter Pan".

Randy Harrison was born on November 2, 1977, in Nashua, New Hampshire. At the age of 11, he moved with his family to Alpharetta, Georgia. He attended Pace Academy, a private school in Atlanta. His father held a managerial position in a major paper company, and his mother was involved in the arts. Randy has an older brother who currently works as a bank manager.

Harrison earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, specializing in musical theater. During his studies, he participated in several university productions, including "Children of Eden" and the controversial play "Shopping and Fucking" by Mark Ravenhill. The young actor also performed in other theaters, including "Violet" in Cincinnati, "1776" at the St. Louis Municipal Theatre, and "West Side Story" at the Forestburg Playhouse, among others.

In 2000, Harrison made his television debut when he accepted the role of Justin Taylor, a gay teenager, in the American version of "Queer as Folk". The series ran for five seasons and Randy appeared in all 83 episodes. In 2002, he played the character Sean, a leader of outcast high school students, in the TV movie "Bang Bang You're Dead".

In 2010, Harrison portrayed Brutus in a postmodernist drama called "Julius Caesar", directed and written by Patrick Donelley. He has also been involved in various theater productions, including "Deviant" at the New York International Fringe Festival, "Wicked" on Broadway, and plays like "An Oak Tree", "Antony and Cleopatra", and "A Singing Forest".

Randy Harrison is well-known in regional theaters and has been a regular participant at the Berkshire Theatre Festival since 2005. He has played various roles in productions such as "Equus", "Amadeus", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", "Mrs. Warren's Profession", "Waiting for Godot", "Ghosts", and "Endgame". He has also performed at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and with the Shakespeare Theatre Company.

As an openly gay man, Harrison dated Simon Dumenco, a journalist from Advertising Age, from 2002 to 2008. They met when Simon interviewed Randy for "New York Magazine". The actor also shares his life with two cats, Ella and Aggie, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
