Biography of Rashad Evans
Rashad Evans is an American mixed martial artist and martial arts specialist, currently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born in Niagara Falls, New York, and was one of eight children in his family. Even in school, Evans showed great skill as a wrestler, winning state competitions twice. He was also successful in football during that time. After graduating from high school, Evans attended Niagara County Community College, where he professionally pursued wrestling. He eventually won the National Junior College Championship.

Evans later transferred to Michigan State University, where he played for the university's football team for three years. It was during this time that he achieved one of his most notable records by defeating Greg Jones, one of the top college legends of that time who had only lost three times in his career. After earning a degree in psychology from the university, Evans settled in Lansing, Michigan. In 2005, he returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach.

On January 2, 2010, just a few hours before his fight with Thiago Silva, Evans received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 2004, under the guidance of legendary fighter and martial arts specialist Dan Severn, Evans participated in five professional mixed martial arts competitions and won all five. He was then selected as one of the nine heavyweights for the reality show "The Ultimate Fighter 2". In his weight category, Evans was the smallest and almost the lightest, leading many to underestimate his chances. However, he consistently defeated Tom Murphy, Mike Whitehead, and Keith Jardine.

For a while, Evans had conflicts with one of the show's coaches, Matt Hughes, primarily due to his love for self-promotion. However, they eventually reconciled, and Hughes even participated in one of Evans' fights. In the show's final match, Evans had to face the two-meter-tall Brad Imes. The judges' decision was not unanimous, but ultimately, Evans was declared the winner, earning him a three-year contract with the UFC and a brand new car.
Shortly after the show ended, Evans changed weight divisions, moving to the light-heavyweight category, which promised greater opportunities for him. However, his first fight in this category against Sam Hoger almost ended in defeat, with Hoger almost winning with one of his favorite moves in the second round. Nevertheless, Evans continued to compete in the light-heavyweight division and on December 27, 2008, he fought Forrest Griffin for the UFC champion title. Griffin dominated the first two rounds, but in the third round, Evans launched a successful counter-attack and took Griffin down, securing a victory through technique.
Unfortunately, in his next fight, Evans lost the championship title and had to start from scratch to regain it. Currently, he is set to fight Mauricio Rua, but not until Rua recovers from knee surgery.
