Early Career and Education
Born in Argentina, Raúl Bobadilla took his first steps in football at the renowned River Plate academy. He excelled as a forward, honing his skills with the club until 2006.
European Breakthrough
In 2006, Bobadilla made his move to Europe, signing with Swiss Challenge League club Concordia. His impressive performance of 18 goals in 28 matches quickly caught the attention of other Swiss teams. In 2007, he joined Grasshoppers, making his debut in the Swiss Super League against St. Gallen.
Career at Grasshoppers
Bobadilla became a regular starter for Grasshoppers, contributing 26 goals in 47 appearances over two seasons. His performances earned him recognition and paved the way for his next move.
Arrival at Borussia Mönchengladbach
On June 12, 2009, Bobadilla signed for German Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he was designated as the primary striker. He made his Bundesliga debut against Bochum in the 2009/10 season.
