Early Life and TrainingRaz Hershko, born in Israel, began her judo journey at the tender age of four. As she progressed, she honed her skills at the prestigious Wingate Institute under the watchful eye of her uncle, Shahar Hershko, a renowned judo coach and head coach of Israel's women's national team.
Junior Success
Hershko made her international debut in 2013 at the World Cadet Championships in Miami. Her remarkable breakthrough came in 2015, where she claimed three silver medals and emerged victorious at the European Cadet Championships. Her winning streak continued in 2016 with triumphs at the European Junior Championships in Athens and the European Junior Cup in Deva, Romania.
Senior Accomplishments
In 2017, Hershko transitioned to the senior ranks, placing second at the European U23 Championships. The following year, she triumphed at the European Championships in Malaga. Her success culminated in a gold medal at the 2021 Antalya Grand Slam, securing her a spot at the Tokyo Olympics.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Hershko prevailed over her Saudi Arabian opponent, Taani Al-Katani, but narrowly lost to Japan's Akira Sone in the Round of 16. However, she made amends in the mixed team event, contributing to Israel's bronze medal victory. In 2023, she claimed another bronze at the World Championships in Doha, defeating China's Xu Shi in the third-place match.
