Early Life and Career

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Razak Omotoyosi was born on October 8, 1985, in the city of Lagos. Despite holding dual Nigerian and Benin citizenship, Omotoyosi began his professional football career in 2003 with the Nigerian Premier League club Sunshine Stars.

Disqualification and Move to Benin

In the same year, Omotoyosi's career faced a major setback when he received a five-year suspension for assaulting a referee in a Nigerian league match. In 2004, he moved to Benin and acquired citizenship, playing for two years with Avrankou and Pobè in the Benin League.

Breakthrough at Sheriff Tiraspol

Omotoyosi's impressive performance at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup led to a transfer to Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol in November. In 2006, he became Moldovan Champion and Cup winner. He also participated in the 2006-2007 UEFA Champions League, scoring a goal against Spartak Moscow.

Success in Sweden with Helsingborgs IF

In 2007, Omotoyosi moved to Helsingborgs IF in Sweden. After a slow start, he formed a formidable partnership with Henrik Larsson. In 2007, he won the Allsvenskan Golden Boot alongside Marcus Berg of IFK Gothenburg, scoring 14 goals. He also impressed in the 2007-2008 UEFA Cup, scoring six goals.

Move to Al-Nassr and Return to Europe

In June 2008, Omotoyosi was sold to Saudi Arabian top-flight club Al-Nassr. Despite being a regular starter and scoring crucial goals, he expressed his desire to leave Saudi Arabia in January 2009. He was linked with a six-month loan move to Stoke City.

International Career with Benin

Omotoyosi made his debut for Benin in 2004. He represented his country at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.
