American Economist
American economist. She earned her bachelor's degree in 1976 from the University of Minnesota and her Ph.D. in 1983 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has held teaching positions at Princeton University (1983-1989), Northwestern University (1989-1999), and the University of Michigan (since 1999). She is currently the director of the University of Michigan's School of Public Policy.
Academic Career
After completing her Ph.D., she began her academic career at Princeton University, where she taught from 1983 to 1989. She then moved to Northwestern University, where she remained until 1999. In 1999, she joined the faculty of the University of Michigan, where she has been a professor ever since.
