Early Life and Career in Turkmenistan
Rejepmurad Agabaýewis a Turkmen football player and coach who began his career in the early 1990s with Turkmen clubs Nebitçi and Nisa. He made his international debut for the Turkmenistan national team in 1994, representing his country in qualifiers for the World Cups of 1998, 2002, and 2006.
Time in Kazakhstan and Return to Turkmenistan
In 1999, Agabaýew was loaned to Kazakh club Kairat SOPFK, where he spent a year before returning to Nisa. However, he soon headed back to Kazakhstan, this time playing for Atyrau and Yesil-Bogatyr. In 2005, he became a Kazakhstani citizen. In 2006, Agabaýew returned to Turkmenistan and joined Ashgabat, where he ended his playing career.
Coaching Career
After retiring as a player, Agabaýew began his coaching career in 2010, leading Nebitçi and, later, Balkan.
Membership in the Goal-Scoring Club
On October 26, 2017, sports journalist Viktor Khokhluk created the Club of Bombardier-Legionnaires of Kazakhstan Teams, named after Brazilian striker Nilton Mendes, who was the first legionnaire to score 100 goals for Kazakh football clubs. While at Kairat, Agabaýew scored a significant portion of his goals in his Kazakh career (45) and was, until the arrival of African player Gou, the club's leading legionnaire scorer. He played a total of 172 matches for Kazakh clubs, scoring 73 goals, earning him entry into the Bombardier Club, which requires at least 50 goals scored at the highest level.
