Coaching and Olympic Debut

Rezi Stiegler achieved her results not only thanks to the efforts of her parents but also with the help of former Olympic and world champion Diana Roffe, who supported Stiegler's career as a promising racer in the American program. Stiegler made her Olympic debut in Turin in 2006, finishing 11th in the combined and 12th in slalom. After a half-season absence in 2008 due to multiple injuries from a December 28th fall, Stiegler returned to the World Cup. She interrupted the competitions again when she broke her leg at the end of the summer and was sidelined from racing until the World Championships in Val d'Isere, France, where she was named a member of the American team. Agreeing to participate in the 2008 international competitions, Rezi made the right decision and managed to finish 19th in slalom. Unfortunately, her return to the sport was marred by an incident when Stiegler accidentally broke her leg just a few weeks later.

Return and Dedication

Always determined, this time Rezi remained focused on her recovery program and returned to full training only during the spring tour in Hawaii with her team. Stiegler, along with other athletes, trained twice a day. She hit the snow during the annual training trip to New Zealand in August 2008, where she showed her coaches that she was finally in top form and more ready than ever to win. Stiegler also spent some time in Los Angeles to speak about her upcoming participation in the Olympic Games on NBC's "The Carson Daly Show." One of her signature trademarks and commitments to her sponsors are the "tiger ears" that she typically wears over her helmet. However, it was only thanks to a decision by the International Olympic Committee that she was allowed to keep wearing them at the Turin Olympics. In reality, Stiegler is also a freerider.
