Biography of Revaz Chelbadze

Revaz Chelbadze is a former Soviet football player and striker. He was awarded the title of Master of Sports in 1976. Chelbadze began his career in 1972, playing for the club team "Shukura" in Kobuleti. In 1974, he was recruited by the team "Dinamo" in Batumi. Two years later, in 1976, he transferred to "Dinamo" in Tbilisi. During his time in the top league, Chelbadze played 158 matches and scored 52 goals.

Chelbadze also represented the Soviet national football team, playing 7 matches and scoring 3 goals. He also played 2 games as part of the Olympic team in the 1980 Olympics. After retiring from his sports career, Chelbadze pursued administrative work. He served as the President of "Dinamo" in Batumi from 1990 to 1994 and again in 1995, as well as from July 1996 to August. He also held the position of President of FC "Shukura" since 1990. In addition, Chelbadze served as the President of "Metalurg" in Rustavi from 1996 to November 1997.

Chelbadze also worked as the Vice President of the Georgian Football Federation from 1995 onwards. Currently, he works as a football agent, representing the interests of young Georgian football players. He is particularly involved in handling transfer deals for Zhano Ananidze. Throughout his career, Chelbadze achieved various accomplishments, including being the Champion of the USSR in 1978, the silver medalist in 1977, and the bronze medalist in 1976 (both in the league and cup). He also won the USSR Cup in 1976 and 1979, as well as the Cup Winners' Cup in 1981. Chelbadze was a bronze medalist in the 1980 Olympics.

In the football magazine "33-х," Chelbadze was ranked as number 2 in 1977. He also won the second prize in the Soviet Union People's Spartakiad in 1979.
