Richard Patrick Dunne is an Irish footballer who played as a defender. He made his debut in football on July 16, 1995, under the guidance of his first coach, Joseph Royle.

Early Career

In 1996, Richard Dunne signed a five-year contract with Everton. During the 1996-1997 season, he played for Everton's reserve team. However, in the autumn of 2000, his rights were purchased by Manchester City for a transfer fee of £3 million.

Manchester City Career

In the following years, Dunne became an integral part of Manchester City, leading the team as their captain in Premier League and European Cup matches. In July 2008, he signed a new four-year contract, committing his future to Manchester City until the end of the 2011-2012 season.

International Career
