Biography of Rimma Kryukova

Rimma Kryukova was born on November 20, 1926, in Tashkent. She graduated from the Architecture Faculty of Tashkent Polytechnic Institute in 1950. In 1952, she became a member of the Union of Architects of Russia.

Professional Career

Kryukova worked in various architectural institutions including Uzgosproekt, TashZNIIEP, and the State Construction Expertise of the Uzbek SSR. She was awarded the Silver Medal of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy of the USSR for her design and construction of 4-story residential buildings of the Series 77. She also received the Bronze Medal for her project of a 4-story experimental residential building with new types of summer spaces.

She participated in open All-Union competitions and won the first prize for her project of a 200-seat club, as well as the second and encouragement prizes for her designs of residential buildings with transformable summer spaces. Kryukova was honored with the Order of the Badge of Honor.

Later Life

Kryukova retired in 1992 and has been residing in Samara since 1997. She is the author of numerous standardized projects including hospitals, cinemas, and residential buildings. She has also worked on experimental projects and the design of the 600-seat Leningrad Hotel, which was constructed in Tashkent.

Some of her notable works include a 9-story residential building in Tashkent and the development of standardized projects for schools, clubs, hospitals, and cinemas in Tashkent.
