Early Life and GrowthGeorge Bobroczky was born in Arad, Romania, to a family of giants. His father, Zsigmond, stood 7' 1" (2.17 m) and his mother, Brunhilda, was 6' 1" (1.86 m). By the age of eight, George had surpassed his mother in height, measuring 6' 2" (1.88 m), and by 12, he towered over his father at 7' 2" (2.18 m), surpassing Robert Wadlow's height at those ages.
Throughout his life, Bobroczky has been subject to medical studies. His growth has been attributed to healthy genetics and not a hormonal disorder or overgrowth syndrome.
Youth Career
In 2014, Bobroczky was recruited by Italy's Stella Azzurra, where he displayed impressive mid-range shooting and passing abilities. His height advantage made him a dominant force, but his lack of muscle mass and stamina limited his playing time.
Bobroczky became an internet sensation in early 2016, showcasing his dominance against smaller opponents while playing for Stella Azzurra.
High School
In 2016, Bobroczky moved to Geneva, Ohio, to attend SPIRE Institute and Academy. He continued to struggle with weight gain and adjusting to the more physical American basketball style. He made his debut for SPIRE Institute on January 14, 2017.
College
Bobroczky enrolled at Rochester University in July 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned to Romania but rejoined the team in the fall of 2021.
Physical Characteristics
At 7' 7" (2.31 m), Bobroczky is one of the tallest college basketball players in the world. His shoes are a US size 17, and his inseam measures an astonishing 57 inches (140 cm).
