Robert Ilatov: Israeli Politician and NDI Faction Head

Born on November 12, 1971 in Frunze, Kirghiz SSR, Robert Ilatov is an Israeli politician and the chairman of the "Yisrael Beiteinu" faction in the Knesset.

Early Life and Education

Ilatov spent his childhood in Andijan, Uzbek SSR. In 1985, he immigrated to Israel and settled in Netanya. He completed 12th grade at Tchernichovski High School and attended college at Tel Aviv University.

Municipal Leadership

Before entering national politics, Ilatov served as deputy mayor of Netanya, headed the municipal absorption committee, and was responsible for transportation, parking, and city information systems. From 2000 to 2006, he worked as a kashrut inspector at Laniado Hospital.

Political Career

Ilatov began his political career in the "Yisrael Ba'Aliyah" (IBA) party in 1997. Elected to the Netanya Municipal Council on IBA's list, he quickly resigned and joined the "Yisrael Beiteinu" party.

In the 2006 elections, Ilatov ran on the 9th spot of the Yisrael Beiteinu list and was elected to the 17th Knesset. Since February 25, 2007, he has served as the chairman of the party's parliamentary faction.

Personal Life

Robert Ilatov is married to Irina Ilatova, a former master of sports in rhythmic gymnastics. They met in 1999 while working in the Netanya municipality. They have a son, David, born in 2001. Ilatov has two younger brothers and resides with his family in Netanya.
