Roman Kozák
Early Life and EducationRoman Kozák was born on June 29, 1957, in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. He graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School (MKhAT) in 1982, where he studied under Oleg Yefremov.
Theatrical Career
As an ActorKozák began his acting career at the MKhAT in 1983. He also collaborated with the "Man" theater studio as an actor and director.
As a Director
In 1990, Kozák founded the "Fifth Studio of the MKhAT." From 1991 to 1992, he served as the artistic director of the Stanislavsky Theatre. Kozák directed plays in numerous theaters worldwide, including:

Teaching

Kozák became the artistic director of the Pushkin Theatre on April 17, 2001.
Personal Life and Legacy
Kozák was married to choreographer Alla Sigalova. He passed away on May 28, 2010, after a long illness. Kozák was buried at the Troekurovskoye Cemetery in Moscow.
He was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in 2000 and Honored Artist of Russia in 2007. Kozák was also the chairman of the Guild of Theatre Directors of Russia.
