Ross Dan Hutchins is a British professional tennis player who specializes in doubles. He stands at 190 cm tall, weighs 86 kg, and plays with his right hand. Hutchins turned professional in 2002 and has since had a successful career, competing in several Challenger tournaments and breaking into the ATP Tour in late 2007. Early Life and Education

Ross Hutchins was born on February 22, 1985, in Wimbledon, London, UK. He grew up in a family deeply involved in tennis, with his father Paul Hutchins being a former British tennis player who participated in the Davis Cup in 1968 and served as the team captain from 1975 to 1987. Hutchins has a brother and two sisters, all of whom also play tennis. He attended King's College School in Wimbledon but left in 2001 to pursue his sporting career. In addition to English, Ross is fluent in French and Spanish.

Tennis Career

Hutchins trained extensively at the All England Club on their carpeted indoor courts. He also played cricket, rugby, basketball, golf, and football, and was a keen swimmer. He is a supporter of the football club FC Fulham. Hutchins has mentioned that his favorite movies are "Gladiator" (2000) and "Remember the Titans" (2000). Throughout his career, he has been coached by former British professionals Roger Taylor, Miles Maclagan, Colin Beecher, Andrew Richardson, and Rhys Hanger.

Currently residing in Portsmouth, Hutchins also works at "The Registry Pub" when he is not competing. He started participating in Futures tournaments and qualifying competitions in 2003 and made his international debut in 2004. In February 2005, Hutchins achieved his first professional victory in doubles at the Delmont Futures tournament in Switzerland, partnering with Henry Adjei-Darko. This victory was followed by further successes.

In 2005, Hutchins made his debut at one of the Grand Slam tournaments, Wimbledon, in the men's doubles category, partnering with Martin Lee. Although they lost to the French duo Jean-François Bachelot and Arnaud Clément, this marked Hutchins' first appearance at a major tournament. In November of the same year, he reached his first singles final at the Montreal Futures tournament. In 2006, Hutchins partnered with Joshua Goodall and reached the second round of Wimbledon after defeating Christophe Rochus and Stanislas Wawrinka in the first round. They also made it to the final of their first Challenger tournament in Nottingham.

By the end of 2007, Hutchins broke into the top 100 in the world doubles rankings and focused even more on doubles. In 2008, he began regularly competing in ATP tournaments with his new partner Stephen Huss. The pair surprised everyone by reaching the third round of the French Open and Hutchins also made his debut for Great Britain in the Davis Cup. In the same year, Hutchins and Huss celebrated their first ATP Tour victory at the China Open. Towards the end of the season, Hutchins also played several tournaments with his former partner Andy Murray, Eric Butorac.

Since 2009, Hutchins has been playing with Australian partner Jordan Kerr.
