American Record Holder Who Baked 1092 Pancakes in an Hour

Ross McCurdy is an American restaurant owner from Kingston, Washington. In 2013, he set a world record for the fastest pancake baking, baking 1092 pancakes in just one hour, surpassing the previous record of 956 pancakes held by Steve Hamilton.

Not His First Record

This was not McCurdy's first time setting records in the kitchen. He previously held the title for the world egg cracking championship, cracking 32 eggs in just a minute. Another unique record of McCurdy's is catching a grape thrown by himself with his mouth from a distance of 20 meters. This spectacle, dressed in running shoes and sportswear, with McCurdy throwing the grape with all his might and then chasing after it with his mouth wide open, is entertaining, thrilling, and amusing.

The Pancake Day

McCurdy achieved his pancake baking record at "The Oak Table Café" in August 2013. The event was a charitable one, where visitors to the café could enjoy unlimited pancakes and donate money if they wished. McCurdy had an inkling that he could set this record, but he admitted later that he did not expect it to be so challenging. By the 45th minute, he felt like he was in a war and was determined to win at any cost.

An Impressive Achievement

Despite the continuous addition of pancakes on the counter, the exhaustion of the chef grew. It is worth noting that McCurdy's pancakes were not the typical ones we are accustomed to. They were only about 12 cm in diameter and thicker than standard Russian pancakes, more similar to fritters. Nonetheless, baking 1092 pancakes in an hour is an incredibly impressive feat, making Ross McCurdy the new world champion in fast pancake baking.

Future Plans

McCurdy has a plethora of plans for the future. He intends to set records in disciplines like "the tallest stack of pancakes" and dreams of breaking the record for the fastest one-mile run with another person on his back.
