Roy Haynes, an American jazz musician, is currently 84 years old. However, one would never guess his age by his youthful and energetic drumming. After working with various ensembles of great jazz artists for over fifty years, Roy Haynes finally formed his own group. Early Life
Roy Haynes was born on March 13, 1925, in Boston. His interest in jazz was born alongside him, and he has been fascinated by jazz for as long as he can remember. Haynes' musical career began in 1945.

Collaborations
From 1947 to 1949, Haynes worked with saxophonist Lester Young. Shortly after, he played in the quintet of the great saxophonist Charlie Parker. From 1949 to 1953, Haynes toured the world with the legendary Sarah Vaughan. From 1954 to 1959, he collaborated with Thelonious Monk, developing his own unique and recognizable style of drumming.
