Ruben Harutyunyan Hovsepyan: A Life in Armenian Politics and Government
Early Life and Education
Ruben Harutyunyan Hovsepyan was born on August 28, 1958, in Yerevan, Armenia. He completed secondary school in 1976 and enrolled in the Yerevan Technical College of Computer Science in 1978. While pursuing his studies, he worked as an assembler at the Elektrosark Production Association.
Professional Career
After graduating from technical college in 1982 as an electrical technician, Hovsepyan worked at the Remdetal plant as a highly skilled mechanic and production manager. From 1990 to 1996, he led the cooperative Basek.
Political Journey
Hovsepyan's political career began in 1997 when he served as head of the Housing and Utilities Management Office No. 3. He then held positions at the Yerevan Electric Networks (1998-2004), including deputy head of the Mashtots District electricity grid and director of the Musaler association.
Higher Education
From 2000 to 2005, Hovsepyan pursued his higher education at the Moscow branch of the International Non-Commercial Academy in Yerevan.
Government Service
In 2004, Hovsepyan became deputy head of the real estate cadastre department of the Davitashen-Achapnyak territorial administration. He was subsequently appointed deputy head of Armenia's State Property Management Department.
Community Leadership
In October 2006, Hovsepyan was elected head of the Achapnyak community of Yerevan. He is a non-partisan politician and serves on the board of the Nig-Aparan charitable organization.
Personal Life
Ruben Hovsepyan is the younger brother of Aghvan Hovsepyan, a prominent Armenian politician.
