Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo is a Spanish professional tennis player. He was born on January 6, 1978, in Alicante, Spain. Ramirez Hidalgo started playing tennis at the age of 8, alongside his parents. His father, Jose Maria, is a sports store owner, and his mother, Jeanine, is a homemaker. He has two older sisters, Rebeca and Raquel. His coach is Diego Dinomo.

Ramirez Hidalgo turned professional in 1998. He achieved his best singles ranking on October 2, 2006, when he reached the 50th position on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) list of the world's best players. As of July 9, 2012, he is currently ranked 83rd in the singles category.
