Early Life and Education

Rüdiger Vogler was born in Warthausen, near Biberach an der Riß, Germany. From 1963 to 1965, he attended the acting school in Heidelberg.

Vogler made his film debut in 1970 with Peter Handke's TV movie "Chronik der laufenden Ereignisse." In 1971, he began his over 20-year collaboration with Wim Wenders in "The Goalkeeper's Fear of the Penalty Kick" (based on Handke's novel). In 1973, he played his first leading role in Wenders' "Alice in the Cities."
