Rustem Dautov: First Grandmaster and Accomplished Chess Player

Rustem Dautov is a German chess player who was previously a Soviet citizen. He is renowned for being the first Grandmaster in chess. With a peak rating of 2636 in January 2002, Dautov has achieved significant success throughout his career. He hails from a Tatar background and has participated in several USSR youth championships, where he became the champion in 1983. He has also excelled in nationwide tournaments for young masters.

International Success and Achievements

Dautov has achieved remarkable results in various international competitions. He secured first place in tournaments held in Dresden from 1986 to 1988, Halle-Neustadt in 1987, and Potsdam in 1988. Additionally, he attained joint first-second place in Rostock in 1987, and joint first-third place in Berlin in 1988. Dautov has also claimed victory in tournaments in Kecskemet and Dresden. In 1989, he secured a second-place finish in Sverdlovsk.

Champion and Medalist

Dautov has been the champion in different chess competitions. He became the champion of Germany in 1996 and earned a silver medal as a member of the German national team in the 34th Chess Olympiad held in Istanbul in 2000. Furthermore, Dautov has achieved the title of champion in the Armed Forces of the USSR in 1986 and Belarus in the same year. He has also been a medalist in the international tournament, "Ural-89."

Personal Life and Contributions

Dautov's father, Hazit Mirzagitovich Dautov, was his first coach. He is married to German chess player Petra Stadler. Dautov was born in Ufa, Russia, but has been residing in Germany since 1992. As an international Grandmaster in chess, he has been a longstanding member of the German national team and is well-respected in the chess world.

In early 2006, Dautov received an offer from PokerStrategy to create and lead the Russian community. After months of translation work and the establishment of a forum, the Russian community went online on September 12, 2006. Currently, it is the largest Russian-speaking poker community with over 1,700,000 registered users. The Russian forum holds significant importance within PokerStrategy.
