Early Life and Family

Ryan James Eggold was born on August 10, 1984, in Lakewood, California. He is the son of Karen (née Benik) and James Frederick Eggold. Eggold has German, Croatian, Austrian, and Jewish ancestry. He has a younger sister named Nicole Marie. As a child, Eggold displayed artistic abilities and participated in plays at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. He also played the guitar, piano, and formed a band called Eleanor Avenue.

Education and Career Beginnings

Eggold attended the University of Southern California after high school, where he studied theater. He debuted as an actor in 2006, appearing in episodes of "Related," "Brothers & Sisters," "Veronica Mars," "War at Home," and the short film "Con: The Corruption of Shawn Helm."
