Biography of Sain Mumtaz
Sain Mumtaz, a Pakistani man with an unusually large head, is a rare case of Proteus syndrome, a congenital disorder characterized by excessive growth of bones and tissues in specific parts of the body. With only about 120 individuals worldwide suffering from this condition, 23-year-old Sain Mumtaz lives in Lahore, Pakistan, where he is well-known for his unique appearance.
A Life Affected by Proteus Syndrome
Sain Mumtaz's head is notably misshapen and enormous, with an irregularly shaped skull and a prominent bone on his forehead. Additionally, he has growths on his back resembling a hump, as well as deformed arms and legs. Although nature has dealt him a cruel hand, Sain remains optimistic, firmly believing that doctors will eventually find a way to help him.
Despite his highly unusual appearance, Sain Mumtaz is fully aware of his condition and dreams of finding a cure. Behind his frequent smile lies the ability to hide his emotions when people stare at him wherever he goes. Undoubtedly, Sain's appearance can be quite intimidating, especially due to his disproportionately large head. However, his neighbors and those who know him personally are not afraid of him.
Interestingly, all other members of the Mumtaz family are in good health, leaving Sain as the only one affected by this condition. He has suffered since childhood, and his father found it challenging to explain to him why he was different from others and why unfamiliar children teased him or ran away in horror. Over time, Sain has learned to accept his situation, although his giant head has caused not only aesthetic but also physical pain. As the years passed, the weight on his neck took its toll, resulting in significant problems with his increasingly curved spine.
A Hopeful Outlook and Unfulfilled Dreams
When Sain was around 18 years old, his family finally agreed to have him examined by doctors. However, the medical professionals could not come to a definitive conclusion regarding whether a series of surgeries would benefit him. Ultimately, the decision was left up to Sain and his family. They chose not to proceed with the operations and accept their fate, vowing to support Sain for as long as he lives.
Unfortunately, doctors do not offer particularly positive prognoses for young individuals in his condition, as their lifespans are typically shortened. Nevertheless, Sain Mumtaz has long accepted his reality and bravely endures the blows dealt by fate. All that remains for him is hope.
In addition to longing for a cure, Sain dreams of finding love, believing that somewhere in the world, there is a woman capable of loving him not for his appearance but for his soul. Sadly, he remains lonely for now. Furthermore, Sain aspires to succeed in business one day. Remarkably, his appearance has even brought him some financial support since early childhood, with compassionate individuals willingly giving him alms. However, Sain does not consider begging a worthy pursuit; he wants to become a businessman.
