Sam Johnson: A Lifelong Love for Lego

Sam Johnson, a boy from England, had a deep passion for building Lego constructions. He loved it so much that one day, he decided to write a letter to the Lego company, asking them to hire him at the age of 8. While waiting for a response, Sam continued to play with his beloved Lego every day. It took 15 years for Sam to finally receive a positive answer.

Becoming an Expert Builder

From as long as he can remember, Sam recalls that Lego has always been a part of his life. He tirelessly built trucks, spaceships, farms, skyscrapers, ships, and motorcycles, gradually becoming a true specialist. At the age of 8, Sam, who knew without a doubt that he wanted to spend his entire life with his favorite toy, couldn't resist and wrote a letter to the Lego company, asking for a job. The company decided to wait cautiously before hiring such a young applicant, but they did respond to Sam's letter. The response included a comprehensive list of qualifications required for a Lego employee – a degree in science, skills and abilities, expectations, and age. Sam read every word, agreed, lamented briefly about his young age, and decided to do exactly as instructed. Meanwhile, the years went by, and he continued playing with Lego constructions.

The Dream Becomes a Reality

Fifteen years passed, and Sam Johnson successfully graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in design from the University of Derby. His Lego construction became part of his final project. Once again, Sam sent his letter and resume to the Lego company, stating that Lego was essentially his entire life. It was then that the long-awaited positive response finally arrived – Sam was invited to join the team as a junior designer. Needless to say, for 23-year-old Sam, this meant one thing – childhood dreams do come true! The letter, written by a young boy many years ago, had matured, gained weight, and was reinforced by a diploma. It had become substantial enough for a university graduate to secure a wonderful and, most importantly, desired job. Without hesitation, Sam accepted the offer and set off to work in Denmark. He excelled in the interview and began his Dream Job. Later, he admitted that his own story amazed even himself – it turned out that childhood dreams do come true; one just needs to be consistent and persistent. "I always wanted and dreamed of being a Lego builder, and in the end, that's exactly what I became!" says Sam Johnson.
