Early Life and Career
Sándor Tótka was born on July 27, 1994, in Mezőtúr, Hungary. From a young age, he showed a passion for kayaking. In 2010, he made a name for himself by winning the gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
Success on the International Stage
In 2013, Tótka joined the Hungarian national team and made his international debut at the World Championships in Duisburg, Germany. He earned a bronze medal in the 4 × 200 m relay.
Double Gold and Olympic Debut
At the 2015 World Championships in Milan, Tótka and his partner Péter Molnár triumphed in the 200 m K-2 event, claiming the gold medal. They also won bronze at the inaugural European Games in Baku in the same discipline.
European Success and Olympic Participation
The following year, Tótka helped Hungary win the European Championship in the 500 m K-4 event. His impressive performance earned him a spot on the Hungarian team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He reached the A-final in the K-2 with Molnár but finished fourth, just shy of the podium.
