Biography of Sang A Im-Propp
Sang A Im-Propp was born on February 25, 1973, in Seoul, South Korea. Despite her innate interest in the world of fashion, Im-Propp initially kept her distance from design. Growing up in Seoul, she began dancing in youth groups at the age of ten and toured with performances in different countries. She continued to dance and started to learn the craft of singing. Im-Propp lent her voice to many professional musicals, which were critically acclaimed, and became a successful singer and actress on the Korean stage. She released three albums on the 'Samsung Records' label and by the age of 26, she had become one of the most promising celebrities in Korea.

However, her love for fashion and stylish accessories played a decisive role in Im-Propp's future. Before founding her brand 'SANG A,' she spent two years conducting research, searching for materials, and developing designs. Her exotic materials, including antique waxed python leather, hand-waxed alligator skin, and glossy lizard skin, were sourced from the finest European tanneries. Her bags are appreciated for their bold and timeless designs.

In November 2007, Im-Propp received the 'Samsung Fashion Design Fund Award' in Seoul. The use of exotic leather and materials is a common practice for Im-Propp. She works with crocodile, alligator, python, ostrich, lizard, skate, and eel skins, as well as fur. For her Spring 2011 collection, Im-Propp incorporated an unusual material, eel skin, to create bags with a completely new style. This turn made the Korean designer the first in the luxury segment to use an environmentally harmless resource.

In June 2010, Im-Propp became a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). She currently resides in New York City.
