Early Life and Education

Sanni Grahn-Laasonen was born in Forssa, Finland, to Kari Grahn, the editor-in-chief of the local newspaper Forssan Lehti. She attended the University of Helsinki, earning a Master's degree in 2011.

Political Career

Member of Parliament

In 2011, Grahn-Laasonen was elected to the Finnish Parliament, representing the National Coalition Party. She received a significant number of votes, with 5,866 supporters.

Minister of the Environment

From September 24, 2014, to May 29, 2015, Grahn-Laasonen served as the Minister of the Environment in the government led by Prime Minister Alexander Stubb.

Minister of Education and Culture

On May 29, 2015, Grahn-Laasonen was appointed Minister of Education and Culture in the government of Prime Minister Juha Sipilä. She held this position until 2017.

Personal Life

Grahn-Laasonen is married to Arttu Laasonen. They tied the knot in 2009 and welcomed their daughter into the world in 2013.
