Sarah Hendrickson is an American athlete specializing in ski jumping. She was born on August 1, 1994, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Growing up in a sports-oriented family, Sarah was introduced to the world of skiing by her older brother when she was just 8 years old.

Early Career

Sarah began her training at a sports complex in Utah and made her debut in competitive skiing in the 2008 season. She achieved a podium finish at the national championships and placed 16th in the junior world championships. In 2009, at the age of 15, she started competing among adults and had her first major success at the summer competitions in Lillehammer.

Rise to Prominence

Sarah's breakthrough came on December 3, 2011, when she secured her first victory in the World Cup. From that moment on, she consistently emerged as one of the leading figures in women's ski jumping. In 2013, she won the gold medal at the World Championships in Val di Fiemme, defeating Sara Takanashi from Japan. In her first attempt on the 90-meter hill, she recorded the best distance of 106 meters. Sarah also holds the absolute record on the 95-meter hill in Val di Fiemme, which she set on January 15, 2012, making her the record holder among both women and men.
