Biography of Johannes Høsflot Klæbo

Norwegian Skier, Olympic Champion 2018 in individual sprint, bronze medalist at the 2017 World Championships in individual sprint, winner of the Small Crystal Globe in the sprint discipline for the 2016/2017 season, three-time Junior World Champion.

Early Career

In the 2014/15 season, Klæbo participated in his first Junior World Championships in Almaty, where he won two bronze medals in the classic sprint and relay events. The following year, at the Junior World Championships in Râșnov, Romania, Klæbo became a three-time champion, winning gold in the sprint, 10km classic, and relay races.

Entry into the World Cup

On March 3, 2016, Klæbo made his World Cup debut in Drammen, Norway, competing in the classic sprint event. In his very first World Cup race of the 2016/2017 season, Klæbo secured his first podium finish, taking third place in the classic sprint.

Success at the World Championships

Leading up to the 2017 World Championships in Otepää, Estonia, Klæbo won the sprint event at a World Cup race. Just five days later, he won the bronze medal in the sprint discipline at the World Championships.
