Scott Hall: The Razor Ramon
Scott Hall made his WWF debut as Razor Ramon, a character created by Vince McMahon. He debuted at Survivor Series 1992, where he teamed with Ric Flair and Bobby Heenan to replace The Ultimate Warrior. Despite losing the match to Mr. Perfect and Randy Savage, Ramon's performance was impressive.
WCW and the nWo
In 1996, Hall signed with WCW and formed The Outsiders with Kevin Nash. They debuted at a Nitro taping, cutting a legendary promo in which Hall declared, "We're taking over." Hall and Nash feuded with Sting, Lex Luger, and Randy Savage, eventually aligning with Hulk Hogan to form the revolutionary New World Order (nWo).
WWF Championships
Hall returned to WWF in 2002, where he won the Intercontinental Championship twice, defeating Triple H and Chris Jericho. In 2004, he won the World Tag Team Championship with Nash, who was then known as Kevin Nash.
Retirement and Hall of Fame
Hall retired from in-ring competition in 2004 due to injuries and health problems. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014 alongside Nash and Sean Waltman.
Early Career
Before WWF, Hall wrestled in the Florida territory of NWA, where he teamed with Marty Jannetty as Starship Express. He later moved to the main territory of NWA, but struggled to find success. He joined the AWA in 1986 and became known as Magnum Scott Hall, inspired by the TV show "Magnum, P.I."
Tommy Rich and WCW
In 1991, Hall moved to WCW, where he was known as Diamond Studd. He managed to defeat Tommy Rich for the World Caribbean Heavyweight Championship but lost it shortly after. In 1994, he won his first WWF Intercontinental Championship, which he would hold on multiple occasions.
The Kliq
In WWF, Hall formed a close-knit group with Nash, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Sean Waltman, known as The Kliq. Their real-life friendship caused tensions with Vince McMahon, who ultimately fired Hall in 1996.
Personal Challenges
Throughout his life, Hall struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. He underwent several stints in rehab and made public appearances advocating for addiction recovery.
Legacy
Scott Hall is considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. His charismatic character, innovative style, and ability to connect with fans left an enduring impact on the industry. He is known for his signature moves, including the "Razor's Edge" and the "Outsider's Edge."
