Biography of Hillbilly Jim
Jim Morris, better known by his ring name Hillbilly Jim, is an American wrestler and entertainer. He was born on July 5, 1952, in Madlick, Kentucky, USA.
Early Career
Hillbilly Jim made his debut in 1975 and spent a considerable amount of time wrestling in Memphis under the name "Harley Davidson." He was known for his signature move, the Biker Slam. Occasionally, he teamed up with Roger Smith as part of the Dirty Rhodes tag team.
World Wrestling Federation
In 1985, Hillbilly Jim joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He became a protege of Hulk Hogan and even appeared on Hogan's show "Hulk Hogan's Rock 'N' Wrestling." Hillbilly Jim faced numerous notable opponents in the ring, including Brutus Beefcake, Johnny V, André the Giant, Big John Studd, and King Kong Bundy. However, he is best remembered for his consistent participation in the annual WrestleMania Fan Axxess shows as a member of the Hillbillies faction.
Television and Music Career
From 1990 to 2001, Hillbilly Jim was involved in promoting wrestling on television for the Coliseum Home Video and later for Sony Home Videos. He traveled to various countries, including Japan, Australia, and Mexico, as part of this program. Hillbilly Jim also discovered his talents as a showman and musician during his wrestling career. He released a country music album titled "Don't Go Messing With A Country Boy." He appeared on several television shows, such as Atlanta Super Sports Show, Video Software Dealer's Association, and Focus on Video. Additionally, he was a spokesperson for the popular truck company, Chevy, and hosted a radio show in Kentucky.
Current Life
Currently, Hillbilly Jim resides in Miami, Florida, and works as a DJ on a local radio channel. He is still beloved by fans who fondly remember his memorable wrestling performances.
