He is walking a 15,000-kilometer trek across Australia, dressed as a Stormtrooper from 'Star Wars'. Scott Loxley, 47, a former soldier and avid traveler, has always had a passion for exploring his country. Now, he has found a way to fulfill his dream and make the world a better place. Scott is walking alone, while his family remains in Melbourne. He is undertaking this journey as part of the 'Monash Children's Hospital' charity project, which aims to raise funds for the construction of a new children's hospital in Melbourne.

A Challenging Adventure

Walking such a long distance is not an easy feat, let alone doing it in a Stormtrooper suit, complete with a helmet and full gear. During his nearly year-long journey, Scott has gone through twenty pairs of shoes and covered over 9,000 kilometers. However, his entire route spans 15,000 kilometers, meaning he still has a long way to go. Along the road, Australian drivers often stop to talk to him, curious about who he is and what he is doing. Many ask to take pictures with him, and Scott willingly poses for them, as his mission is to raise money and he cannot refuse anyone.

An Inspiring Mission

Carrying a load of over 50 kilograms, including the Stormtrooper costume, equipment, tools for repairs, drinking water, and some food, Scott aims to cover between 50 and 75 kilometers on a good day. However, sometimes he can only manage 30 kilometers in a day. He prefers to walk during the evenings, as the Australian daytime heat can be unbearable. So far, Scott has managed to raise around $20,000, but his ultimate goal is to reach $100,000. The iconic Stormtrooper suit has proven to be a lucky charm, as its recognizable appearance captures people's attention and encourages them to donate to his cause.

A Journey of Determination

Scott embarked on his trek just one week after his wedding. He acknowledges that walking 15,000 kilometers is no easy task, but he considers himself to be in excellent physical shape and finds the journey relatively manageable. Sometimes, he hunts snakes and other wild animals for food on the go. Other times, kind-hearted locals invite him to share a meal and listen to the stories of his adventures. Once Scott completes his route, he will become the only person to have circled Australia in a Stormtrooper costume. It remains uncertain whether he will apply for an official record, but the world has never before witnessed a traveling Stormtrooper on its roads.
